On the 5th March 2008 representatives of Austria, Finland, France, Portugal and Netherlands will meet at UNICRI Headquarters for the EU-SEC Task 3.3 and 4.1 meeting. The participants will discuss, on behalf of the EU-SEC Consortium, the implementation of the final and joint transnational activities envisaged by the project, with a specific focus on Private Public Partnerships in the field of security at Major Events. |

The members of the Network Steering Committee will gather for the seventh time on 25th October in the The meeting, hosted by the Dutch Ministry of Justice, will focus on the implementation of the different EU-SEC tasks, on the approval of the latest deliverables produced, and on the future developments of the project.
Moreover, the Work Package 3 meeting will be held in At the meeting the EU-SEC pilot call for ideas, which has been drawn up to develop a Special Technical Equipment Pool (STEP) and a Common Register of Major Events in Europe (EMER) will be launched. During the meeting there will be also the presentation of the Security Planning Model of the International Permanent Observatory on security during Major Events (IPO) and the publication “Counter terrorism Intelligence Cooperation in the European Union”. |

| The EU-SEC Consortium will organize a Seminar on the 27th July 2007. The Seminar will be held in Paris and will be hosted by the Direction de la Formation de la Police Nationale (D.F.P.N). |

Relevant best practices and up-to-date expertise on security at Major Events will be presented in the forthcoming EU-SEC Seminar, organized within the Joint Activities currently developed by the EU-SEC Consortium.
Moreover, the Seminar will describe and explain how the security supply-side stakeholders could potentially become active in specified tasks. More specifically, the Seminar will provide the participants with the opportunity to meet one another, to establish contacts with European end-users and to be fully informed of the goals, basic features and future potentialities of the EU-SEC. One of the goals of the Seminar will also be to update the participants on the pilot call for proposals that the EU-SEC Consortium is drafting for a Special Technical Equipment Pool (STEP) and a Common Register of Major Events in Europe (EMER). These are two security tools that all EU-SEC Partners deemed most important and suitable for the day-to-day implementation of security during Major Events. The EU-SEC pilot call for proposals will be launched in October 2007. |

The members of the Network Steering Committee will gather for the fifth time at the United Nations Headquarters in New York on the 5th December 2006. The meeting will be mainly devoted to the approval of the latest deliverables produced within the framework of the different tasks and work packages by the EU-SEC Consortium partners. In addition, UNICRI and the Spanish Ministerio del Interior co-organised the final meeting of the Work Package 2, which will take place at the United Nations Headquarters on the 6th December 2006. |

Within the framework of Work Package 5, the Polizei-Führungsakademie des Bundes und der Länder (PFA Munster) officially asked UNICRI to host a conference on the topic of Ethical Issues related to Security during Major Events.

| The fourth meeting of the Network Steering Committee will be held on the 31st may 2006 and will be hosted by the Home Office and the London Metropolitan Police in Southampton | |
The members of the Network Steering Committee of the EU-SEC project will gather for the fourth time on 31st May in Southampton. The meeting, hosted by the Home Office and the London Metropolitan Police and organised by PICTU and the University of Southampton, will allow the project partners to update the NSC on the implementation of the different EU-SEC tasks. Moreover, the official timetable for 2006 activities will be adopted and a concrete co-operation with the European Police College established. Within the framework of its analysis of the barriers, which hinder effective research coordination in Europe, the hosting partner organised a two days workshop on the topic of research sharing (scope and obstacles). The workshop will take place after the NSC meeting, on the 1st and 2nd June2006.
